Trentham and Hanford - update regarding attempted burglaries on Pacific Road

Good afternoon everyone, 

In relation to the report we received on 29/05/26 regarding two males attending a property on Pacific Rd and trying the door handle to the address, along with being suspected of doing the same at another property. 

A 15 year old male has been identified as being responsible. He has today been interviewed and will now be processed by our Youth Offending Team. 

We did receive a report yesterday (30/05/26) that a door handle to an address on Atlantic Grove was heard being tried at 06:30am. No entry to the address was made and nothing is believed to have been damaged or taken. Enquiries are ongoing to establish if this is linked to the Pacific Road incidents. 

I have reviewed the reports overnight and at present we are not aware of any further incidents. 

Should anyone have any CCTV, Ring doorbell footage or another other information regarding the above incidents, please reply to this message and I will be in touch. 

These incidents continue to highlight how effective locking our doors is in crime prevention. My work in promoting this throughout the area through ‘We Knocked To Check You Locked’ will continue frequently.
